Why do so many visitors fall under Sheringham's spell?

Sheringham is a friendly small seaside town

Sheringham is a unique, friendly and  characterful small town with local shops, including fishmongers selling locally caught fish and famous Sheringham crabs and lobsters,  greengrocers selling locally grown produce, excellent bakeries, butchers selling local meat, a well stocked health food shop and a new deli both selling local cheeses, olives and etc, icecream shops one of which sells 140 delicious varieties of Norfolk made icecream and 2 local supermarkets. There are bookstores, newsagents, art galleries, gift and craft shops, several clothing stores and a market twice a week.

There are excellent pubs, restaurants and cafes, a thriving theatre with a varied programme of plays, talks, films, exhibitions and much more,  three museums,detailing the history of the town, its fishing heritage and lifeboats. There is live music of many different kinds both day and evening including during the winter in pubs, social clubs, churches etc and the famous Sheringham Shantymen frequently give concerts and perform in a variety of venues.  The North Norfolk Steam Railway has a full programme of events and festivals. There is a cliff top Golf course and two putting greens for less professional fun!  Close to Sheringham there are stately homes and gardens such as Felbrigg Hall, Sheringham Park, Blicking, Holkham Hall, and many others. For animal  and bird lovers there are to mention but a few, the Shire Horse Centre and Sanctuary, the new Cromer Zoo, Pensthorpe Park (of BBC TV Springwatch fame), Cley marshes and the new Norfolk Wildlife Trust veiwing THINGY????
